OVERVIEW
The Masters in Teacher Librarianship (MTL) offered by the National Institute of Library and Information Science (NILIS), University of Colombo, is an advanced professional qualification designed to develop skilled professionals in school librarianship and learning resource centre management. The programme focuses on teacher librarianship, collection management, information literacy, information management, educational technology, and research methods. It equips educators with the knowledge and professional skills to effectively organize, manage, and lead school libraries while promoting information access, learning, and research.

Entry Requirements :
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Library and Information Science with First-Class or Second-Class Honours from a recognized higher education institution.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized higher education institution, together with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Library Science, Information Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
Professional Experience :
- Relevant work experience in the education service as a School Teacher or Teacher Librarian, or in another position deemed acceptable by the NILIS Board of Management.
