NILIS Staff Empowered with LibreOffice Training

Lanka Education and Research Network (LEARN) recently organized a specialized training session on LibreOffice, a comprehensive Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) desktop productivity suite. The session was delivered as the fifth installment of LEARN’s ongoing series, “Digitalizing Research and Academic Content and Workflows.”

NILIS utilized this opportunity to train its staff on LibreOffice application. Held on July 5th, the two-hour workshop introduced staff to LibreOffice’s full suite of tools – including document creation, spreadsheets, presentations, and databases.

By training its staff on FOSS solutions, NILIS reinforces its commitment to digital sovereignty, vendor independence, and sustainable digital transformation within Sri Lanka’s higher education landscape.
