A guest lecture by Dr. Magdeline Ng on New Trends in Librarianship

The National Institute of Library and Information Sciences (NILIS), University of Colombo, successfully conducted a webinar titled “Inside Out: Transforming Education, Research & Student Life through the Culture of Innovation” on 06th April 2026 via Zoom. The session was delivered by Dr. Magdeline Ng, Vice University Librarian and Cluster Head of Digital Strategy & Innovation at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Libraries, Singapore. The webinar attracted around 54 participants, including Library and Information Science (LIS) students, academics, and professionals from across the country.

The session highlighted emerging trends, innovative practices, and real-world experiences from NUS Libraries, focusing on the transformation of education, research, and student engagement through innovation in library services and operations.
The event was coordinated and moderated by Dr. Chiranthi Wijesundara, Coordinator of the MLIS Programme, NILIS.
