NILIS Launches a Green Activity to Mark World Environment Day 2026

As part of the University of Colombo’s efforts to promote environmentally friendly initiatives in connection with World Environment Day 2026, the National Institute of Library and Information Sciences (NILIS) commenced a tree-planting initiative to enhance the greenery and appearance of its surroundings.

The initiative was carried out on 23 July 2026, with several plants being planted around the NILIS premises. The activity reflects NILIS’s commitment to maintaining a greener and more pleasant environment within its premises while supporting the broader environmental initiatives of the University.

Through this initiative, NILIS aims to contribute to creating a more attractive and environmentally conscious learning environment for its students, staff, and visitors.
