
NILIS Research Symposium 2025 Held Successfully
The National Institute of Library and Information Sciences (NILIS), University of Colombo, successfully held the NILIS Research Symposium 2025 (NRS25), bringing together academics, researchers, practitioners, and students to explore the evolving landscape of library and information sciences on 30th October 2025 at the Faculty of Education Auditorium, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. This year’s theme was “Innovative Libraries, Inclusive Communities: Building Bridges through Knowledge”. The symposium highlighted how innovative libraries can strengthen inclusive communities and create new pathways for knowledge sharing in a rapidly changing information environment.
This year’s symposium was organized under the leadership of Professor R.C.G. Gamage, Symposium Chair. Dr. S. Ketheeswaran served as Co-Chair, while Ms. Dilhani Munasinghe functioned as the Symposium Secretary. A dedicated team representing the Program Committee, Editorial Committee, IT Committee, Logistics Committee, and Review Panel contributed to the successful execution of the event.
NRS25 featured research presentations across diverse domains of Library and Information Science, reflecting NILIS’s commitment to technology-driven librarianship, digital inclusion, information literacy, knowledge organization, and user-centered information environments. The symposium served as a platform for postgraduate and undergraduate researchers to present their original work, supported by a rigorous review process conducted by an expert panel of reviewers drawn from leading universities and institutions in Sri Lanka.
