The abstracts should be based on original research and, if accepted, should be presented by the Author\/a Co-author at the NRS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdUhLJdUoMnne-990Euw4ojubURNOlhXUtVE2MNI3ZUHJiWJw\/viewform?usp=sharing&amp;ouid=109538613476414131381\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">SUBMISSIONS CLOSED<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong data-start=\"68\" data-end=\"145\">Please carefully follow the attached guidelines for abstract preparation.<\/strong> Submissions that do not adhere to the specified format or are received after the deadline will not be considered for review. The Editorial Committee reserves the right to make editorial adjustments to enhance the clarity and quality of accepted abstracts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"font-size: 1.1em;\">\n<h3 data-start=\"156\" data-end=\"233\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Guidelines for Submission of Abstracts for Oral Presentations<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"235\" data-end=\"393\">Authors are requested to adhere strictly to the following guidelines when preparing and submitting abstracts for the <strong data-start=\"352\" data-end=\"392\">NILIS Annual Research Symposium 2025<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li data-start=\"395\" data-end=\"511\">\n<p data-start=\"398\" data-end=\"511\"><strong data-start=\"398\" data-end=\"413\">Originality<\/strong><br data-start=\"413\" data-end=\"416\" \/>Abstracts must present original research that has not been published or submitted elsewhere.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"513\" data-end=\"727\">\n<p data-start=\"516\" data-end=\"727\"><strong data-start=\"516\" data-end=\"537\">Authorship Limits<\/strong><br data-start=\"537\" data-end=\"540\" \/>Each author may submit <strong data-start=\"566\" data-end=\"601\">one abstract as a single author<\/strong> and be a <strong data-start=\"611\" data-end=\"660\">co-author on up to three additional abstracts<\/strong>. No author may be listed on more than <strong data-start=\"699\" data-end=\"726\">four abstracts in total<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"729\" data-end=\"948\">\n<p data-start=\"732\" data-end=\"948\"><strong data-start=\"732\" data-end=\"761\">Scope of the paper<\/strong><br data-start=\"761\" data-end=\"764\" \/>Preference will be given to research aligned with the theme of the symposium. However, it is encouraged to submit abstracts of any topic relevant to <strong>information studies<\/strong>. This includes health information, financial information, legal information, government information, digital information, media etc.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"950\" data-end=\"1562\">\n<p data-start=\"953\" data-end=\"988\"><strong data-start=\"953\" data-end=\"986\">Author Information Formatting<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"992\" data-end=\"1562\">\n<li data-start=\"992\" data-end=\"1075\">\n<p data-start=\"994\" data-end=\"1075\">Use <strong data-start=\"998\" data-end=\"1017\">capital letters<\/strong> only for initials and the <strong data-start=\"1044\" data-end=\"1072\">first letter of surnames<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1079\" data-end=\"1151\">\n<p data-start=\"1081\" data-end=\"1151\">Include the <strong data-start=\"1093\" data-end=\"1118\">affiliation<\/strong> with the name of each author.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1155\" data-end=\"1299\">\n<p data-start=\"1157\" data-end=\"1299\">If authors represent multiple institutions, indicate affiliations with <strong data-start=\"1228\" data-end=\"1251\">superscript numbers<\/strong> and list institutional addresses accordingly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1303\" data-end=\"1562\">\n<p data-start=\"1305\" data-end=\"1562\"><strong data-start=\"1305\" data-end=\"1336\">Example (multiple authors):<\/strong><br data-start=\"1336\" data-end=\"1339\" \/>P. Use capital letters only for the <strong data-start=\"1657\" data-end=\"1671\">first word<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1676\" data-end=\"1692\">proper nouns<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1695\" data-end=\"1851\">\n<p data-start=\"1698\" data-end=\"1851\"><strong data-start=\"1698\" data-end=\"1717\">Abstract Length<\/strong><br data-start=\"1717\" data-end=\"1720\" \/>The body of the abstract (excluding title, authors, affiliations, acknowledgements, and keywords) must <strong data-start=\"1826\" data-end=\"1850\">not exceed 300 words<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1853\" data-end=\"1959\">\n<p data-start=\"1856\" data-end=\"1959\"><strong data-start=\"1856\" data-end=\"1876\">Acknowledgements<\/strong><br data-start=\"1876\" data-end=\"1879\" \/>Should be limited to <strong data-start=\"1903\" data-end=\"1923\">funding agencies<\/strong> and relevant institutional support.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1961\" data-end=\"2032\">\n<p data-start=\"1964\" data-end=\"2032\"><strong data-start=\"1964\" data-end=\"1976\">Keywords<\/strong><br data-start=\"1976\" data-end=\"1979\" \/>A maximum of <strong data-start=\"1995\" data-end=\"2012\">five keywords<\/strong> should be included.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2034\" data-end=\"2231\">\n<p data-start=\"2037\" data-end=\"2066\"><strong data-start=\"2037\" data-end=\"2064\">Formatting Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2070\" data-end=\"2231\">\n<li data-start=\"2070\" data-end=\"2112\">\n<p data-start=\"2072\" data-end=\"2112\">Font: <strong data-start=\"2078\" data-end=\"2097\">Times New Roman<\/strong>, size <strong data-start=\"2104\" data-end=\"2110\">11<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2116\" data-end=\"2142\">\n<p data-start=\"2118\" data-end=\"2142\">Spacing: <strong data-start=\"2127\" data-end=\"2140\">1.5 lines<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2146\" data-end=\"2182\">\n<p data-start=\"2148\" data-end=\"2182\">Margins: <strong data-start=\"2157\" data-end=\"2167\">1 inch<\/strong> (2.54 cm) on all sides<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2186\" data-end=\"2231\">\n<p data-start=\"2188\" data-end=\"2231\">Abstract should fit on a <strong data-start=\"2213\" data-end=\"2231\">single A4 page<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2233\" data-end=\"2367\">\n<p data-start=\"2237\" data-end=\"2367\"><strong data-start=\"2237\" data-end=\"2261\">Language and Clarity<\/strong><br data-start=\"2261\" data-end=\"2264\" \/>Abstracts must be coherent, clearly written, and <strong data-start=\"2317\" data-end=\"2366\">free from grammatical or typographical errors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2369\" data-end=\"2620\">\n<p data-start=\"2373\" data-end=\"2478\"><strong data-start=\"2373\" data-end=\"2394\">Submission Format<\/strong><br data-start=\"2394\" data-end=\"2397\" \/>Submit as a <strong data-start=\"2413\" data-end=\"2437\">single Word document<\/strong> containing two versions of the abstract:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2483\" data-end=\"2620\">\n<li data-start=\"2483\" data-end=\"2542\">\n<p data-start=\"2485\" data-end=\"2542\"><strong data-start=\"2485\" data-end=\"2498\">Version 1<\/strong>: With names and institutional affiliations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2547\" data-end=\"2620\">\n<p data-start=\"2549\" data-end=\"2620\"><strong data-start=\"2549\" data-end=\"2562\">Version 2<\/strong>: Title and abstract only (anonymous for review purposes).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2622\" data-end=\"2885\">\n<p data-start=\"2626\" data-end=\"2885\"><strong data-start=\"2626\" data-end=\"2659\">Extended Abstract Requirement<\/strong><br data-start=\"2659\" data-end=\"2662\" \/>All submissions must include an <strong data-start=\"2698\" data-end=\"2719\">extended abstract<\/strong> of 1000-1500 words in length, in addition to the short abstract. Only the short abstract will be published in the proceedings, while the extended abstract will be used for the <strong data-start=\"2866\" data-end=\"2884\">review process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2887\" data-end=\"3156\">\n<p data-start=\"2891\" data-end=\"2913\"><strong data-start=\"2891\" data-end=\"2911\">Declaration Form<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2918\" data-end=\"3156\">\n<li data-start=\"2918\" data-end=\"3045\">\n<p data-start=\"2920\" data-end=\"3045\">A <strong data-start=\"2922\" data-end=\"2942\">declaration form<\/strong> (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/nilis.cmb.ac.lk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/NRS25-Declaration-Form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">template provided here<\/a><\/strong><\/span>) must be signed and submitted by the <strong data-start=\"2999\" data-end=\"3023\">Corresponding Author<\/strong> with each abstract.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3050\" data-end=\"3156\">\n<p data-start=\"3052\" data-end=\"3156\">If the corresponding author is a student and the submission is based on a supervised research, the form must also be signed by the <strong data-start=\"3130\" data-end=\"3155\">supervisor(s)<\/strong>. It is recommended that supervisors become co-authors of the paper submitted to NRS25.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3158\" data-end=\"3440\">\n<p data-start=\"3162\" data-end=\"3440\"><strong data-start=\"3162\" data-end=\"3193\">Presentation Responsibility<\/strong><br data-start=\"3193\" data-end=\"3196\" \/>Presentations must be made by the author\/one of the co-authors.
